Why is Revenue Management & Pricing so misunderstood?

What is Revenue Management?

It is getting a balance of the best price & occupancy for a given date.  This maybe a very high price or a very low price depending on demand & your comptition.

The days of Hotels having 4 prices for the 4 seasons of the year are gone.   Who in January thought the current recession would be over in June?

It is important to have a simple & flexible pricing strategy that can react to current market conditions.  One that can be rolled out off & online quickly.

If you need to introduce Special Offers do not chain your rates with conditions.  Either you want the Offer to work or not.
